Bush vs. Kerry |
I watched the 2004 Presidential debate on CNN today. Bush kept repeating the same statement - that Kerry cannot change positions. In other words, he cannot pull out of the war in Iraq because the soldiers need stability to keep their morale strong? I don't know where to begin to describe what is wrong with that thought. And no matter what Kerry said to question the war in Iraq, Bush just kept repeating the same statements - without any answers. He just lacks direction....was he even listening?
Then he (Bush) goes on to say that "all lives are important". Well, more than 1,000 U.S. soldiers have died and about 10,000 killed in Iraq.
But on the other hand, I will also criticize Kerry for his articulation and choice of words. He doesn't speak with simple, short sentences. This tends to confuse the listener/watcher/voter. Bush seems to be better at this. And Kerry dropped so many names that I completely zoned out for a moment.
I think the debate is more focused on a Bin Laden Vs. Hussein issue when there are more problems that Americans continously face. Have they forgotten all this? |
