had a fun-filled weekend...again.
Started out with friday night...for the first time i was on time, ready to get picked up at 7pm. But lo and behold, tim was late but mostly due to the traffic (payday nga pala!except we both don't get paid hehe). traffic didn't let up even as we made our way to AIM for the graduation party of the Management of the arts course. We arrived at around 8pm already! missed the performances but still caught up with a few friends. I introduced my friend to some of the faculty so he could get a heads up on whether he should take any of the courses he's intrested in. In between his hunger pangs though we broke out in giggles as one guy says casually "anyone want valiums?" like it was a cigarette or a beer. haha. guess you had to be there to get the moment. (i still wonder about these people...do they think they're such friggin rebels by taking a drug that is legal, not lethal unless taken with alcohol and is as harmless as lets say taking an extra melatonin pill to sleep?hahaha)
anyway, we caught dinner at this authentic japanese restaurant in pasay road which i can't remember the name...because he was craving for some sea urchin or something.
we then met up with some friends in Dreambar which, up until now, i thought was filled with gay men, as Giraffe used to be...and wouldn't you know it, they have 80s night! i don't remember having fun dancing to rick astley or madonna or grooving to Michael Jackson's Rock with you. And it wasn't just our table/group by the way, it was the whole friggin bar! it seems as if this age group has been starving for a bar that plays 80s sounds (their time, ok fine i was in grade school then) and i haven't seen that much energy since the start of techno and all that shit. the DJ would stop the music at some point and you realize that every single person was singing to the song. I think Decades was the last bar that played good new wave and i was during my college days. My energy level was up and only with one currant 7 in my system. We went home early though (bummer) bec. he had an interview in ANC the following morning.
* anyone catch it? well try to catch his show at the CCP on July 13 with fellow comedians: Rex Navarette, Candy Pangilinan, Jon Santos etc. and its entitled "tongue in a mood mo rin". how many chances do we get to find all these talents in one evening?
* oh yeah tim says there was a blog by this girl that he came across that talked about one bad night's performance...will the culprit please stand up? hehe
Saturday night...bought my Duncan Sheik tickets! front row man! I get to see him up close. swoon! today everyone texted me asking for info about it...guess i'll be seeing a lot of friends around that night :)
Anyway, watched Charlie's Angels with Marc, Frances and Ziggy...dunno about you but I really liked it! nice to see some contact being made when girls punch each other...Demi Moore was definitely looking good though i think most of the gratitude goes to her plastic surgeon. Cmon guys, you remember St. Elmo's Fire? She had a square face! now it's almost as long as Celine Dion's! and we all know about the boobs...
I liked a lot of the chase scenes and the debate is still ongoing as to our favorite angel...i always liked Drew bec. she made me laugh. but Lucy Liu was especially appealing this time, maybe bec. she was more girly and smiled more. Cameron on the other hand looks really tired but hey, i'd give anything for that body and her legs! And Bernie Mac as Bosley was absolutely perfect! i like him a lot better than Bill Murray...oh and did you notice the villain's fake irish accent? the only thing worth it about him was he was a real bad boy and the whole reference to De Niro in Cape Fear.
I am Drew. Always falls for the Bad Guy...just ONCE i'd like a nice, good boy!
Afterwards, we had dinner in Country Waffles, coffee in starbucks and got home by 11. thought it was going to be relaxing, early night...but received one phone call and i was out the door on my way to Gay Pride in Malate.
Ok the last time i was here i made the mistake of bringing a couple of homophobic friends who couldn't enjoy it (really sorry guys!) but this time was so much better! got parking in (would you believe) nakpil street and we met up with some people in bargo's. Always great to meet some new people no? :) then on to Acquario where we were welcomed by Tina Turner and some lychee martinis...yummeee! i could go on but this is already getting too long. hehe...
have this big presentation later for my promotions plan...hope all goes well :) still have to meet Triks for coffee after.
